91

I recently joined 91, a brand based out of Huntington Beach where everything we do is in house: patterning, cutting, sewing, studding, literally everything is done in our atelier. I have been apart such a wonderful team of 4 others, and during my time here I have been a sponge, trying to absorb all of the knowledge available from my talented coworkers and friends. My role in this collective is photography, cutting and sewing, and prepping and finishing other accessories, such as our signature studded bracelets. Most of my photos for 91 can be found under the photography page on this portfolio. Since releasing our first collection for spring/summer 26 in June, we have been to paris fashion week s/s 26 and new york fashion week f/w 26, with the whole team showing the world what we are about because this brand is something special.

cut and sewn duffle bag

My first time ever working with leather. And also making a bag like this. Made out of an acid washed calf hide and also black cow leather. Lined with red silk on the inside. Learned the whole process of working with leather such as glueing, taping, burnishing, stitching, and hammering.

craftsmanship and sewing projects

Working in the atelier has seriously leveled up my craftsmanship and skill level of sewing. Helping sew samples, parts of pants, shirts, burnishing belts and bracelets, cutting out all the parts for a garment or accessory has taught me so much about the work that goes behind garments and accessories and what it takes to take it from an idea to a real product. Always learning.

paris fashion week s/s 26

We held a showroom in our Airbnb in Paris during fashion week, where we presented all our product and had people to come and see it for themselves, try things on, and see how it feels. We let the people style themselves and then it naturally lead to a photoshoot with many of them, creating a meaningful and genuine relationship with these people. Paris really taught me how to create real and genuine relationships with other people. It was a fabulous experience.

new york fashion week f/w 26

New York Fashion Week was very last minute and we couldn't end up securing a venue so we instead made our duffle and doctor bags from scratch and held all of our accessories in these bags and sold them to people in the streets. This experience taught me how to adapt to a situation and to make the best of it. It also built upon my skill of creating genuine relationships by meeting so many amazing and talented people out there.
